How many times have we heard that the words we choose create
our experiences? More often than not our words reflect what we don't want. Whether we are speaking of our sports ability
or our performance on an upcoming exam, we are our harshest judges.
If we were to check our vocabulary, we would see how often
we are self-critical, so critical that we probably feel defeat long before we
try to tackle a particular feat. If we
want to transform into what we choose to become, checking our vocabulary is a
good place to begin. Tell yourself that
you are one of the most talented people you know, that you have overcome
obstacles in your way and that you are going all the way until you achieve what
you desire. Practice every skill
imaginable until you are at the peak of performance. Tell yourself that you will be at such a high
level of achievement that people will recognize your accomplishments. Then, find the right people to support your
journey.
That is how transformation starts—with that special talk you
have with yourself and the passion you put into the journey. It doesn't matter what the goal is—playing sports,
getting a new job, learning a new skill—it is only a matter of doing what you
want. The rule applies even if you are in a
supervisory position and someone is critical of your performance. You can either do nothing and cry about it or
take the challenge.
Take a long look at your journey then expand it by learning
the things you've always wanted to. Go
for it. Look at what you truly want and
you make it your mission in life. Watch how
you speak. Take a hard look at what you
deserve, then take a good old-fashioned deep breath and go for it with all the
gusto you can muster.
